How Berry Heaven came to be.........

Picture
A little piece of heaven right here in Garden Valley. Just  5.4 Miles from the historical Mining town of Coloma, California and 4.8 miles from the American River. Rafting, Camping, Hiking or just relaxing there are many activities in the area.

Garden Valley was established in 1852  and was named for the fact that it sold produce to the miners.

Tradition continues here at Berry Heaven.  Dr. Boone  and Jean Mora originally planted the blueberry/blackberry patch, with Goji berries started from seeds.  When Dean & Terrie Cook took over in 2011 Berry Heaven  was born and the
U-PICK farm with Blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries, garden vegetables & fresh flowers was opened to the public 2012.

Unlike other California Berry farmers our harvesting season starts in May and goes all the way into October and November. What makes Berry Heaven different from other farms is the majority of our  Blueberry plants are late harvest rabbit eyes and Highbush commonly grown in the East Coast and Southern states.  11 Farm varieties that vary  from the lowbush to highbush we have blueberries all season long.  This allows our customers to pick the variety which best suits their own personal taste in Blueberries.   When other El Dorado County U-Pick Farms are done for the year, we here at Berry Heaven are just getting started.

In 2011 Dean and Terrie Cook  planted a large garden to supply neighbors near and far with fresh grown culinary/medicinal herbs and vegetables.  Selling our produce at local markets.  Berry Heaven will be used to  teach local school children  more about our fertile soil right here in Garden Valley.
